Professional services sell hours and outcomes. The question is always the same: how much has gone into the project, how much is unbilled, and is the budget holding. Hub answers it without a separate project tool and a separate invoicing tool.

The project and its hour budget

Every engagement is a project with an agreed price or hour budget, a schedule and a contact person. Hours are logged to the project, and the project view shows at once how much of the budget is used and how much has been invoiced. On a fixed-price project you see the margin before the project ends, not later from the accounts.

Logging hours without a time clock

A consultant does not press Start in the client's lobby. In Hub, hours can be entered manually at the end of the day against the project and task, or the time clock can be used when it is natural, such as workshop days at the client's office. The weekly view shows which days are unlogged. At month end the hours are ready for the invoice.

Invoicing from actual hours or milestones

For time-based billing, Hub gathers the month's hours by project into invoice lines. On fixed-price projects you invoice by milestone — kick-off, interim report, delivery — and the milestones are ready as invoice templates. The invoice goes as a PDF with a reference number, and a reminder goes automatically after the due date. Invoices export to accounting as CSV or Finvoice.

From quote to project

A quote is built in Hub with lines — work packages, hours, prices — and sent as a link. When the client accepts, the quote becomes a project with hour budgets. The same data flows from quote to invoice without being retyped. Rax drafts the quote from similar earlier projects, and you check it.

The client's view of the project

The client sees the project's progress, hours used against budget, documents and invoices in the portal. That cuts status enquiries and makes the invoice predictable: the client has watched the hours accumulate and is not surprised at month end. The client can also approve hours before invoicing.

Documents and meeting minutes

Project documents — quote, contract, reports — live on the project, and meeting minutes are recorded in a structured way: item, decision, owner, deadline. At the next meeting the open items are on show. Rax drafts the minutes from notes.
